Success Stories & Wins

MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY

I believe we should celebrate every little win and success in life. It breeds positivity from within, boosts self-confidence, and builds self-esteem.

One of my big success stories in life was turning around my health. I was 19.5 stone at my heaviest. I was pre-diabetic, had high blood pressure, and experienced daily stomach and bowel problems from my high-carb, high-sugar diet. The only exercise I got was jumping up and down when my team scored while watching football.

The catalyst for change came one Sunday after one of my usually indulgent weekends. I was keeled over in pain and couldn’t move from the toilet, wasting my only day off with my family because of it.

I would usually eat for the sake of eating, regardless of listening to my body. But that day, I just couldn’t stomach anything only small sips of water.

Then it dawned on me… I had fasted for 24 hours and survived! 🤣 Something I thought was impossible for me at that stage of my life.

I already knew the benefits of fasting, but I had been stuck in a vicious cycle of excessive eating and regularly drinking for years. After that day, I slowly incorporated fasting into my life.

It was tough at first, don’t get me wrong. Going from the lifestyle I had to fasting made my body cry out some days. But I knew I wanted to better myself for me and my family, and this was what initially gave me the focus to want to lose the weight and improve my health.

Now, a couple of years down the line, with a few blips in between (it’s normal to slip on your journey… we’re only human 🤷🏽‍♂️), I’ve turned my health around.

I’m no longer pre-diabetic, nor do I have high blood pressure. I’ve lost 7 stone from what I used to weigh, and my overall health in my mind, body, and soul is in a much better place than when I was the “old” Maxwell.

Consistency is key, and supplements like NMN, Lion’s Mane, and vitamins have really helped me progress. Stacking daily habits and being accountable through self-reflection and other well-being practices have also kept the consistency flowing.

We all have the power to change our lives if we want to. Sometimes, there might need to be a catalyst, like there was for me.

You have the power inside of you. We all do. 👌🏽
